Culture Connections

Discover how the ancient art of ikebana is practiced with Imano Hakuou.

A dedicated artist with decades of experience, Hakuou has mastered flower arrangement, receiving instruction from her mother from a very young age. She founded the Hakuou-kai in 1989 and is affiliated with the Japan Ikebana Art Association.

Hakuou will provide Members with a live ikebana demonstration, starting off with the art form’s basic style before moving on to more complex arrangement.

The monthly Culture Connections events often feature a guest speaker. Previous presentations have covered such topics as mental health and the Japanese art of bonsai.
